| Kelly has gone above and beyond in every aspect of her job
as an RA this summer. Along with her normal duties like making beds, being
on duty and going on rounds and working shifts at the front desk she has
been a major asset to several departmental committees.
She serves on the RA training committee, which plans the training for the entire RA staff across campus that will take place in the fall. Along with one of her fellow RA’s, she has come up with a creative way to design name tags that will both go along with our theme “Reality RA” and have designations to help break the large group into several small groups. Kelly is also on the committee that is planning UW-Eau Claire’s new event of our welcome week, which is the “Block Party, a Taste of Eau Claire.” Kelly has been working all summer to help plan the activities and games that will take place at this event. Kelly has also visited several area businesses to ask them if they would like to come to campus to have their restaurant featured as part of the event. In addition, Kelly is on the Party House committee. Party House is UW- Eau Claire’s major alcohol education program that takes place each fall. It has been decided that this program needed to be totally re- vamped to motivate more student to attend. Kelly has been part of creating a fun room for this program that will feature the reasons that people choose to drink and consequences. Most recently, Kelly has been working on creating a wall-sized alcohol wheel—to show how a certain number of drinks affect a person. Kelly has also worked on several projects to better her hall. She co- designed both a front desk and security manual for her hall. She also has helped to plan the hall’s opening program. Also, without being asked, Kelly took it upon herself to wash ALL of the dishes that are at the front desk of her hall for people to check out. In addition to all of this Kelly has been representing Eau Claire by competing/performing as a member of the Eau Claire Ski Sprites Water Ski team. She competed in the state competition and qualified to compete in the national competition that will be on ESPN. Kelly practices for her Water Skiing almost every day for a few hours. Overall, Kelly has been an amazing RA this summer and deserves to be recognized as the RA of the month! Word Count: 418 |
