Douglas Jirik Memorial Scholarship
The Douglas Jirik Memorial Scholarship was introduced in the fall of 1977 in memory of the first deceased brother of the Theta Tau Chapter of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. Douglas Jirik's enthusiasm in the fraternity and the school of business made him a much-respected student and friend. He died on August 21st, 1976 in a one-car accident a few years after his graduation from St .Cloud State University. This scholarship is in honor of him and his ideas.
This scholarship is given out each semester during the academic year in the form of one $250 scholarship. It is available for those students who fulfill the following requirements:
Have been accepted into a Business Major or the Pre-Business Program.
Have maintained a GPA of at least 2.75.
Have earned 60 credits or more by the end of the current semester.
Have completed at least two semesters as a full-time student at St. Cloud State University.
Are currently enrolled at St. Cloud State University as a full-time student.
Will be attending St. Cloud State University the following semester as a full-time student.
Have not won the Douglas Jirik Memorial Scholarship before.
Not a member of Delta Sigma Pi.
If you meet all of these requirements, stop by the Delta Sigma Pi office (CH 481) and fill out an application.
*Applications for Fall 2009 must be returned to the Delta Sigma Pi office by 2pm Friday, October 30th, 2009
