Wendy Cichanski: Wendy has been a member of the campus ministry team at Newman Center since 1999. She spent eight years as our Director of Religious Education and now serves our community as our Pastoral Associate. She enjoys the challenge of working with both the university students and the families who are permanent members here. Wendy has been a long time Newman member and feels grateful that she "found" this place while she was a student at SCSU. Before joining our team, Wendy taught for eight years in St. Cloud's Catholic School system. Wendy holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN and a Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry from St. John's University School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville, MN. She is a certified Lay Ecclesial Minister using Minnesota Catholic Education Association (MCEA) standards and procedures approved by the USCCB and is also an active member of the Minnesota Catholic Campus Ministry Association (MCCMA). Wendy has a deep love for the Earth and is aware of traces of the Divine all around her. Besides an interest in ecology and cosmology, she also is drawn to the writings of many feminist theologians and continues to read widely in this field. When she's not reading her theology books, she loves spending time camping, boating, and skiing (water and snow!). She also enjoys games, scrapbooking, wild bird watching, theater, music, sharing a glass of wine with her Dancing Daughters, and getting lost in a good piece of fiction. Being an animal lover, she is also a volunteer at the Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud, where all three of her pets were adopted. You can contact Wendy at newman_pastoral@stcloudstate.edu |

Kevin Carlson: Like to sing? Like to play an instrument? Then Kevin is hoping to meet you soon! Kevin joined the staff at Newman Center three years ago as Director of Music and is thrilled to be part of the liturgical "scene" here in this community of faith. He did his undergraduate degree at the U of M in Minneapolis. The Carlson's moved from St. Paul in 1997 in order for Kevin's wife, Dr. Cheri Carlson, to join a chiropractic practice here in St. Cloud. They have three children--two small boys, Andrew (10) and William (8) and daughter, Laura (6). Kevin plays (and teaches) guitar as his primary instrument.
